hermit (2015)

hermit’ is a fifty-minute composition commissioned by Alvear. It explores conditions of silence and structures a series of perceptions in silence. The text score highlights a particular concept of ‘there is’ and ‘there is not’ by examining quotes from a real hermit experience, who significantly dealt with a sense of ‘lost-identity’ by disengaging himself from the human society for a great number of years.
