14 cuttings (2018)

as a result of Summer Residency at Barrow Park in collaboration with Octopus Collective and ame.

After spending two consecutive weekends in rain in Barrow-In-Furness, I decided to make a swing on the branch of the magnolia tree which will be terminated in the very near future due to a necessary landscape maintenance. I leant how to do a traditional knot and rope splicing in order to attach a handmade swing. 14 cuttings off the tree, which happened to be a Japanese magnolia called ‘wada’s memory’, are placed in propagation process around solar-powered kinetic objects made out of found materials around the building.
